Colloids

Colloids can be used for their intrinsic, unique properties, as well as a means to create and assemble the building blocks for exotic structures such as three-dimensional photonic crystals. Sophisticated tools for the creation, separation, modification, and assembly of colloids and colloidal structures are beginning to be developed in conjunction with detailed understanding of the processes involved.
