M.Eng. Admissions
Applications for the MSE M.Eng. program are available online through the Cornell University Graduate School ApplyWeb portal.
Application deadlines
Fall admissions
- January 15 - Priority Review Deadline
- May 1 - Final Deadline
Spring admissions
- October 15 - Priority Review Deadline (includes early-admit Cornell seniors)
All applications received before the priority review deadline will receive full consideration. Applications received after will be considered for available openings in the program.
Test requirements
GRE
- GRE test date within the last 5 years
- No minimum score requirement
Typical scores of qualified candidates: quantitative (165), verbal (155), analytical (3.5) - Current Cornell students are exempted from the GRE requirement
- Cornell University's institutional code for reporting scores is 2098
English language proficiency
International students must meet one of the two following requirements: (Information on exemptions)
- TOEFL (IBT version)
- Minimum scores: writing (20), listening (15), reading (20), speaking: (22); total score (100)
- IELTS (academic)
- Minimum overall band score (7.0)
Essays
- Each applicant must submit an Academic Statement of Purpose and a Personal Statement.
Letters of Recommendation
- Three letters of recommendation are required (two for current Cornell students).
- Letters may be submitted by faculty members or those familiar with your professional performance.
Transcripts
- Unofficial transcripts (in English) must be submitted with your application.
- Upon admission, students are required to submit an official transcript. Email official transcripts to the MSE Program.
