Master of Engineering Admissions Process

An online application for admission and financial aid for the Master of Engineering program must be completed through the Cornell University Graduate School.
Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. For priority review, please submit applications by January 15 for fall admission and October 15 for spring admission. The early admission deadline for Cornell seniors is also October 15.
GRE: MSE does not have a minimum score; however, you must have taken the GRE within 5 years of applying. Typical GRE scores of qualified candidates are: quantitative (165), verbal (155), analytical (3.5).
TOEFL (IBT Version): These minimum scores are a Graduate School Requirement that MUST be met: Writing: 20, Listening: 15, Reading: 20, Speaking: 22
Statement of Purpose and Recommendation Letters
Each applicant must submit a personal statement. Three recommendation letters are required (early admit Cornell students need two letters). Letters may be submitted by faculty members or those familiar with your professional performance.
Unofficial transcripts may be submitted with your application. They must be submitted in English. If you are admitted to the program, you will be required to submit an official transcript. All official transcripts may be sent to the MSE program office for submission to the Graduate School.
